“Articulation” of Local and Global Art

To help bring the academic year to an artful close, Thel Literary/Art Magazine and the Center for Global Education (CGE) are co-sponsoring Articulation on Tuesday, May 5 from 7-9 p.m. on the Second Floor of Scandling Campus Center.

The event will celebrate the opening of “Aleph: Volume 8” as well as “Thel: Spring 2009.” In addition, the 2009 CGE Travel Photography Contest will be on display as well as the Global Visions Gallery Opening.

Thel Literary/Art Magazine features the finest student works in poetry, fiction, photography, visual art and much more. The Aleph is a collaborative magazine project between HWS and Union College; it features the photographs, visual art and travel writing of students while they studied abroad.

Articulation was launched as an art event at the Colleges during spring 2007. In its inauguration, Articulation was designed to be a yearly release party for the Colleges’ literary/art magazine as well as an opportunity to release other campus publications and to exhibit student art and performance. It was founded by Cristina Bain ’08, Joshua Unikel ’07 and Jamie Agnello ’07: all of whom served on the staff of CRUX Literary/Art Magazine, which replaced Thel for an academic year.
