Perkins Invited to Speak on Social Norms at Kansas City Conference

Wesley Perkins, professor of sociology, was invited to give several presentations at the Meeting of the Minds: Networking for Success in Prevention Conference in Kansas City, April 15-17, sponsored by Partners in Prevention, Partners in Environmental Change, Bacchus & Gamma Peer Education Network, and The Network Addressing Collegiate Alcohol and Other Drug Issues. He spoke on four topics during the conference: “Social Norms 101: Pursuing a Science-based Strategy to Reduce Substance Abuse and Promote Healthy Student Environments,” “Gathering and Interpreting Data for Social Norms Interventions,” “Getting Out the Word about Positive Peer Norms: Venues for Delivering Social Norms Messages,” and “Who Should Be the Target Group of Social Norms Programs?”
