Time Warner Cable Sports will televise the Hobart-Carnegie Mellon football game live from Boswell Field on Sept. 19. The Statesmen and Tartans will kickoff at 12:06 p.m.
Hobart and Carnegie Mellon will square off for the third consecutive season. The Statesmen won the previous two meetings by a combined total of just six points.
Hobart’s home opener finds the Statesmen looking for their first win of the season. The Statesmen lost at Dickinson 26-3 last weekend. CMU brings a 2-0 record to Geneva following wins over Ohio Wesleyan 19-7 and Grove City 45-40.
During Hobart’s first two home games, members of the Hobart basketball team will be selling raffle tickets. The raffle features autographed sports memorabilia from a wide array of NBA, NFL, and NHL franchises. The proceeds from the raffle will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project, a national not-for-profit organization that supports wounded U.S. military personnel.
The fundraising efforts will culminate with the “Camouflage Contest” on Sat., Oct. 3, when Hobart will show its support for WWP by wearing custom camouflage jerseys, detailed with the American flag and the logos of Hobart and the WWP during the game against Liberty League rival St. Lawrence. Custom apparel will be on sale during the contest, including T-shirts and hats, each sporting the WWP and Hobart football logos. All apparel, including the customizable camouflage jerseys, will be available online for purchase at www.shopgraph-tex.com.
The raffle will take place during halftime of the St. Lawrence game.
The raffle and “Camouflage Contest” are being organized by senior offensive lineman Angelo Catalano and basketball players senior Tim Ivory and junior Michael Barlow.
