Perkins Speaks at AACU Conference on Engaged Learning, Depression, and Substance Abuse

Wesley Perkins, professor of sociology, was invited by the American Association of Colleges and Universities to give an address at an AACU conference on Bringing Theory into Practice: Addressing Depression and Substance Abuse Among Youth Through Engaged Learning and Service held in Chicago, April 15-17. His presentation was about “Strengths and Weaknesses of Current Prevention Approaches in Peer Intensive College Environments.” Teams of faculty and administrative staff representing more than 40 colleges and universities were selected to attend the conference.
