6 Heron runners earn all-academic

Six William Smith College student-athletes were recently named to the Liberty League Women’s Cross Country All-Academic Team.

To earn a spot on the on the team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher and be at least a sophomore academically. The following Herons were named to the 2009 All-Academic squad:

• Sophomore Anna Hertlein, undeclared
• Junior Ryan Kincaid, environmental studies major*
• Senior Katie Pietrak, media & society major*
• Sophomore
Rosie Scheibel, undeclared
• Junior Deirdre Wholly, chemistry major*
• Sophomore Sarah Wilson#, undeclared

The Heron harriers closed out their 2009 schedule at the NCAA Regional Championships on Nov. 14. William Smith recorded two team victories this season, winning the SUNYIT Invitational and the Hobart Invitational. The Herons also registered a third place finish at the Cross Country Only Conference Championships.
