The New York State Senate honored several area women, including adjunct Instructor in Education Mary Luckern as “Women of Distinction,” according to the June 17 Finger Lakes Times.
Luckern, a native of Seneca Falls, was elected town of Geneva supervisor in 1997. She is a member of the Ontario County Board of Supervisors and serves as liaison to the County Tourism Board. Luckern is a member of the board for Catholic Charities of the Finger Lakes, the board of trustees for DeSales High School, the Geneva Chamber of Commerce, the Geneva Lakefront Committee and the Geneva Historical Society, where she served three terms as president.
Luckern's biography and those of the other honored women are part of a special “Women of Distinction” exhibit on display in the Legislative Office Building in Albany.
