Hobart Dean Clarence Butler's younger daughter, Kirstin, has been chosen as one of the 10 finalists, who, if she is chosen, will give a speech at the Democratic National Convention. It is part of MTV's “Choose or Lose” program that tries to get young people to become politically active. The link to vote for her is www.mtv.com/chooseorlose/dnc_contest, and it shows her photo and essay. She is essay 4 on the voting roster with MTV. Butler was interviewed on June 29, on The Finger Lakes News Network (WSFW 1110AM, WGVA 1240AM, WCGR 1550AM, the Wall 99.3 and WAUB 1590 AM)and was a guest of the Mike and Mary show on WNYR-98.5 FM at 8:40 a.m. She has also been interviewed for segments on RNews in Rochester and Channel 5 in Syracuse.
