Lynn Trefzger, a ventriloquist/comedian with a trunk full of wacky characters that have accompanied her to stages throughout the country, will unpack several of them this Friday, April 2, at Hobart and William Smith.
In the past two years Tretzger has performed at more than 60 colleges nationwide. One of the success stories of the television show, “Star Search,” is that she has performed with Jeff Foxworthy, Ray Romano, The Smothers Brothers and Drew Carey among others.
Tretzger has appeared on ABC, TNN, A&E and Lifetime television. She has been named Ventriloquist of the Year three times by her peers, was named the 2006 Funniest Female Performer of the Year by “Campus Activities Magazine” and nominated 2007 Funniest Female by “American Entertainment Magazine.”
According to a review in the Courier Post (Atlantic City, N.J.), “Trefzger is an excellent technician and a bright, inventive comedian…the result is a gem of a routine…a first rate entertainer!”
Her HWS appearance is being organized by Campus Activities Board (CAB), with sophomore Lauren Morosky leading the event planning. CAB chose to bring Trefzger to campus after they saw her perform at the Mid-Atlantic Conference of National Association of Campus Activities.
“She was charismatic and the crowd absolutely loved her. She is so different than anything we have ever brought to campus and we thought that the pure talent and hilarity would interest students – especially students that are staying here over Easter weekend. We are anticipating a fantastic show and are hoping for an equally fantastic turnout!” says JoJo Vinick, president of CAB.
The show takes place at 8 p.m. in the Geneva Room.
