President Mark Gearan and Geneva Town Supervisor Mary Luckern have each been invited to attend the 2004 Democratic National Convention July 26 to 29 in Boston.
“Both the Republican and Democratic conventions are a great exercise in our democracy. At [their] core, [they're] critically important. It's civic engagement,” Gearan said in an article in the July 15 Finger Lakes Times.
This will be Gearan's sixth trip to a Democratic convention; he attended the last four and in 1978.
