In the midst of the international scandal surrounding the Catholic Church, HWS will welcome back to campus Seth Langson ’73, a partner with Karro, Sellers & Langson law firm, whose practice focuses exclusively on sexual abuse cases.
On Thursday, April 8, Langson will give a talk titled “Law in Pursuit of Justice: From Sexual Abuse and Betrayals of Trust to Empowering Victims” at 5 p.m. in Demarest Hall 014.
The talk will focus on Langson’s work as an attorney who has represented a wide variety of victims of sexual abuse and betrayal, including survivors of clergy sexual abuse. He will talk about the nature of his work, his motivation for continuing to work in this deeply disturbing area, and how he continues to keep himself motivated.
The talk will be held, followed by a question and answer period.
Langson graduated cum laude from Hobart College with a degree in sociology. He received his JD from Boston College in 1976. He is a member of NC Advocates for Justice (formerly NC Academy of Trial Lawyers) and American Association of Justice. He has been a featured speaker at professional seminars for attorneys, therapists and other organizations on proving psychological injuries and sexual abuse.
