Williams Discusses AXIS Dance

Professor of Dance Cynthia Williams was interviewed by Ted Baker of Finger Lakes News Radio on Friday, April 9, about AXIS Dance Company, whose visit on campus this week is sponsored by the Dance Department. The Company’s three-day residency will culminate in a performance Wednesday evening.

While in Geneva, the company is presenting master classes in dance and improvisation, performing a lecture demonstration for Geneva’s West Street Elementary School, and meeting with members of local dance communities. On Monday, for example, the group presented a master class to 19 HWS Colleges’ students, 10 ARC College Experience students, and roughly 20 students and staff from Cobblestone Arts Center in Victor.

Williams provided Baker and listeners an idea of what to expect – and what not to – at Wednesday’s performance. The complete interview can be heard online.
