This weekend, alums from across the country will return to Geneva for the annual the HWS Latin American Organization Extravaganza.
Held in conjunction with the Afro-Latino Alumni and Alumnae Association, the weekend will include the Extravaganza on Saturday, May 1, but will also feature additional activities on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for all to enjoy.
Beginning at 9 a.m. on Friday, April 30, alumni and alumnae attending the Extravaganza can register at the Office of Intercultural Affairs. That evening, between 6 and 8 p.m., Intercultural Affairs will host a cookout for alums and students, with burgers, hot dogs, chicken, rice and beans, salad, macaroni and cheese, potato salad, zucchini, fruit salad and more.
On Saturday, May 1, an alum symposium will be held between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. in Stern Hall and will feature an address from the ALAA president and breakout sessions with information from the Salisbury Center for Career Services on professional advancement and networking.
An alum social will be held from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. in Comstock Dining Hall, where alums can chat before the Extravaganza at 5:30 p.m. in the Vandervort Room. The Extravaganza is open to entire HWS community. The Extravaganza After Party will begin at 11 p.m. on the lower level of the Barn.
On Sunday, May 2, a networking brunch for alums, students and staff will be held in Stern Hall at 11 a.m., followed by a Student-Alum Networking Session.
