Says You!, the game of words and whimsy, bluff and bluster, is coming to the Smith Opera House this weekend for a live recording of their wordplay-based radio show on Friday, June 4 at 7:30 p.m. WEOS and Alumni House are coordinating the event.
Broadcasted on Public Radio stations each week, the panelists of Says You! divide themselves into two teams and host Richard Sher guides them through five rounds of wordplay competition consisting of word games, brain teasers, trivia, and parlor games.
Highlights of the show are largely drawn from listener requests and will engage its viewers with humor and wit. Cheering, applause, whistles and general enthusiasm are all encouraged and welcome during the performance.
Says You! records two versions of the show (a 60 minute and a 30 minute) in each recording, so the total length is between 2.5 to 3 hours. The show always records “live to tape” before an audience. It usually undergoes slight editing before being distributed nationally a few days (sometimes a week) later for radio broadcast.
The event is open to the public. Tickets can be purchased at the Smith’s box office at 82 Seneca Street, Geneva, NY 14456, or by calling the box office at (315) 781-LIVE, or buying online via InstantSeats.
