Mary Schneiter, internship coordinator, was featured in the Aug. 16 Finger Lakes Times article “Make new friends, but keep the old: Summer camp’s memories, lessons live on for FL adults.”
Schneiter went to Lourdes Camp in Skaneateles three years in a row, and shared her memories of summer camp in the story. Among other things, she remembered counselors putting on talent shows that were a lot of fun, eating smores around a huge bonfire by the water, gymnastics, hiking — all the typical camp stuff.
“They also had a canteen and we could go there every night after dinner and spend money on candy and trinkets,” she said. “I bought water balloons. I remember my big blue giant water balloon that I tried to save under the cabin for a week. It didn’t last long.”
