On the weekend of September 24-26, HWS parents, friends and alums from across the country and around the world will return to campus to reconnect and celebrate during the first ever HWS Homecoming and Family Weekend.
“We’re very excited to be celebrating Homecoming and Family Weekend on the same weekend,” says Director of Parent Relations Kerry Cassell P’07, P’10, P’12. “It’ll be a great chance for the entire Hobart and William Smith family to connect.”
The Colleges have planned a variety of activities throughout the weekend, including mini-college sessions, Fall Nationals, a Super Tailgate, sporting events and much more. During halftime at Saturday evening’s football game against St. John Fisher, HWS will dedicate the newly renovated Caird Center for Sports and Recreation, named in honor of James F. ’56 and Cynthia L. Caird.
“For the first time in a long time, alums will be invited, en masse, to experience campus when it’s bustling with activity,” says Director of Alumni Relations Jared Weeden ’91, director of Alumni Relations. “Unlike Reunion, alums can interact with students during this Homecoming weekend, while students will get a firsthand glimpse of how the relationship with HWS and the members of our community doesn’t end at graduation.”
Whether it’s to see new buildings, connect with old friends or visit your current student, Weeden and Cassell encourage all alums to come back to campus. “When our community comes together it’s amazing, and everyone feels a sense of pride in the Colleges,” Weeden adds. “You will be glad you came!”
