Assistant Professor of Geoscience Tara Curtin has received a grant from the Keck Geology Consortium to host a research program during the summer of 2005. Curtin and Professor of Geoscience John Halfman, along with an additional Consortium faculty member, will work with up to nine students from HWS and other consortium schools in environmental studies and geoscience.
In turn, HWS students are invited to participate in research opportunities offered at the other schools.
Professors Curtin and Halfman will focus on the evolution of Seneca Lake and other Finger Lakes watersheds.
The Consortium, based out of Carleton College in Minnesota, includes of a number of highly regarded institutions such as Williams, Amherst, Trinity, Smith, Pomona and others.
