The Faculty Art Exhibition will be held in the Davis Gallery in Houghton House through Friday, Oct. 1. The exhibition features diverse artwork from the Department of Art and Architecture faculty members including Ted Aub, Mike Bogin, Sam Castner, Christine Chin, Elena Ciletti, Mark Jones, Stan Mathews, Colette Quaglia, Rob Wolfe and Phillia Yi.
The show features a variety of artistic mediums, including paintings, drawings, collage, woodcut prints, photographs, sculpture, and architectural drawings. Within these mediums, the faculty displays their expertise, as well as their vastly different artistic eyes. Portions of the artwork are more conceptual, while other pieces are of a more formal nature. The gallery also includes digitally manipulated images as well as carefully constructed sculptures.
This year’s exhibition contemplates the need to invent that drives humankind, and provides thought-provoking art that will allow students and faculty alike to engage in discussion about art and art culture in contemporary times.
