The Hobart golf team finished sixth in the seven team field at the Liberty League Championship this weekend. Senior Kevin Miller led the Statesmen at Ravenwood Country Club.
Tied for 15th place after 18 holes, Miller shot a six over 78 on Saturday. He followed that with an 81, tying for 21st place. First-year Dillon Sass was 24th after carding twin rounds of 81.Sophomore Steve Dougherty was the next Hobart player in the clubhouse. He improved six strokes from Saturday to Sunday, firing the Statesmen’s best Sunday 18, an 80.
Skidmore (297-291-588) won the conference title by six strokes over Rochester (299-295-594). The Yellowjackets’ Nicholas Palladino captured individual medalist honors by seven strokes thanks to the two lowest rounds of the tournament, a 70 on Saturday and a four under 68 on Sunday. He was named the league’s Player and Rookie of the year.
The Statesmen will be back in action the links on Oct. 11, when they compete in the Franklin & Marshall Invitational.
