Hobart and William Smith will host the 2010 Liberty League Championship races for men’s and women’s cross country on Saturday, Oct. 30, at Seneca Lake State Park. The men will begin an 8-kilometer race at noon; the women will start a 6-kilometer race at 1 p.m.
Hobart and William Smith will be joined on the course by defending men’s and women’s champions St. Lawrence, as well as Clarkson, Rensselaer, Union, and Vassar.
The Statesmen are led by first-years Josh Kirkman and Nick Schmidt. Kirkman has been named Liberty League Rookie of the Week twice, while Schmidt earned the award for the first time last week. Kirkman and Schmidt have been the top two finishers for Hobart in four of seven races this year.
The Herons are led by first-year Maggie Nash. Nash has earned a weekly award from the Liberty League following each of her first seven collegiate races, including six Rookie of the Week awards. Nash has finished first for William Smith in every race this season.
