Parish ’84 discusses careers in finance

Brooke Parish ’84 will return to the Colleges as part of The Sailsbury Center for Career Services’ Professionals in Residence Series.  Parish will discuss “Careers in Finance: Beyond the Numbers,” sharing his experiences as a Partner at York Capital Management.  The talk will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 9 in Stern 103.

York Capital Management is a $14 billion multi-strategy hedge fund headquartered in New York City. Parish joined York in 2003 as Global Head of the Client Advisory Group and is responsible for overseeing the firm’s worldwide new business and client relationships. He is also a member of the firm’s Operating Committee.

Prior to joining York in early 2003, Parish worked at Lazard Asset Management in New York. Previously, he worked in San Francisco at a start-up alternative asset management firm and spent seven years with Bessemer Trust, where he was head of the alternative asset management group in New York.  He began his career in the Employee Benefits Division of Aetna Life Insurance Company in Boston. 

He received his B.A. in history from Hobart.
