An “Appetizers with AmeriCorps” panel will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 16 for all students interested in the organization’s service programs. The panel will consist of five AmeriCorps participants who will discuss their involvement as well as HWS matching AmeriCorps rewards. The event will be held at 7 p.m. in Merritt 200.
The panelists will share their experience in various programs of AmeriCorps, as well as their perspective on the organization as a whole. After the panel, there will be a Skype session with a recruiter from Teach for America at 8 p.m.
AmeriCorps is a network of national service programs which engage Americans in extensive service to meet the nation’s critical needs in education, public safety, health and the environment. AmeriCorps incorporates two national service programs: Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA) and National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC). Hobart and William Smith are among only 94 colleges that match AmeriCorps rewards for currently enrolled students.
