What do you know about the French artists Matisse and Degas? Can you name the French soccer player famous for his head-on collision? Or the French singer who is married to the President of France? Do you know what francophone means? And how many francophone countries are there around the world? Are you craving croissants or crêpes?
Whether you are fluent in French or can’t say any more than “Oui oui!” the French and Francophone Club invites you to celebrate National French Week from Monday, Nov. 8 – Saturday, Nov. 13.
Stop by the French and Francophone table in the Scandling Campus Center on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at lunchtime to learn some fun facts about the francophone world and win prizes for answering trivia questions. On Tuesday, join the club in the library atrium between 2 and 4 p.m. for a delicious afternoon snack of croissants ($1 each). On Thursday, wander over to the Intercultural Affairs House between 4 and 6 p.m. and build a mouth-watering crêpe ($2 each). Finally, close out a week of francophone excitement by joining the French and Francophone Club as they support the HWS Human Rights Collective in the Walk for Haiti at the Field House from 4 to 6 p.m.
