Hobart first-year Josh Kirkman led the Statesmen at the ECAC Cross Country Championships in Colt State Park today. He covered the 8-kilometer course in 28 minutes, 15.63 seconds to finish 90th out of 300 runners.
Sophomores Blake Taylor and Alden Ruml were the next Hobart harriers to cross the finish line. Taylor ran a career best 28:46.62 to take 123rd, while Ruml also ran a personal best, logging a time of 29:44.53 (181st).
Hobart finished 30th out of 44 teams. Williams (94) won the team title by a comfortable margin over Middlebury (123). Franciscan’s Bill Jones won the race in 25:55.68, more than 13 seconds ahead of the runner up.
The Statesmen will be back in action on Saturday, Nov. 13, when they compete in the NCAA Atlantic Region Championships at Oneonta.
