From Dec. 1 – 8, Hillel and the Abbe Center for Jewish life will host a series of events to celebrate Hanukkah. There will be a Menorah Lighting each night of the holiday, followed by various food and entertainment activities. Times of the lighting ceremonies, as well as events to follow are listed below (all are at the Abbe Center, unless otherwise noted):
Wednesday, Dec. 1, at 7:30 p.m., followed by soofganiyot (jelly filled doughnuts), dreidels and gelt.
Thursday, Dec. 2, at 7:30 p.m., followed by cookie decorating and a screening of the “Rugrats Hanukkah Special.”
Friday, Dec. 3, 6 p.m., preceding Shabbanukkah, also known as Shabbat dinner with latkes.
Saturday, Dec. 4, starting at 6 p.m., followed by a Fried Food Fest.
Sunday Dec. 5, starting at 5 p.m., followed by bagels, lox and a Hanukkah movie.
On Monday Dec. 6, starting at 6 p.m., preceding a meal of kosher hot dogs.
On Tuesday, Dec. 7, the Menorah Lighting will take place in the Hirshson Ballroom at 6:30 p.m., with Israeli dancing.
For the last night of Hanukkah, Wednesday, Dec. 8, the Menorah Lighting returns to the Abbe Center at 5:30 p.m., followed by a pizza party and games.
