Hobart junior faceoff specialist Bobby Dattilo was named a preseason honorable mention All-American by Face-Off Yearbook.
Dattilo is coming off an exceptional sophomore season that saw him rank second in the ECAC and eighth in the nation in faceoff winning percentage (.578). He also led the Statesmen and ranked fifth in the league in ground balls (67, 4.79/g). Dattilo matched his career-high with 17 faceoff victories and scooped up a season-high nine ground balls in a 12-9 win over Colgate and won 14-of-15 restarts in a 6-5 triumph over Binghamton. His efforts earned him Hobart’s Crook Family Award which is presented for leadership, outstanding play, sportsmanship, and all-around value to the team.
Face-Off Yearbook selected first, second, third, and honorable mention All-America teams. Dattilo squared off against one of the three faceoff specialists chosen ahead of him, third teamer Jake Clarke of Bucknell. Dattilo won 13-of-19 from Clarke, but the then No. 20 Bison escaped with a 9-7 win.
