Darr ’97 Has First Solo Exhibit

Aisha Darr ’97 was recently featured in the Daily Times (Pakistan) for organizing her first solo art exhibition. The article says Darr is “a brilliant artist, trained during the mid 90’s and began exploring herself through artistic practice.” It continues, “She has created very beautiful art pieces with a working tool of a ball point pen. She says that her paintings are her mental images of conversations she live through.”

Darr earned her B.A. in studio art from William Smith College, with a minor in art history. She is currently the coordinator and associate professor of liberal arts programme at the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture.

Aisha Darr holds her first solo exhibition

Karachi: Coordinator and Associate Professor of Liberal Arts Programme at the Indus Valley School of Art & Architecture Aisha Darr has organized her first solo art exhibition entitled “Shades of Black” at VM Art Gallery.

Aisha Darr is a brilliant artist, trained during the mid 90’s and began exploring herself through artistic practice. Trained at the Hobart and William Smith Colleges NY, USA and Masters Degree in Comparative and International Education from UNIV. OF OXFORD, UK. She was awarded Elizabeth Sibley Stebbens Art prize for “Excellence in Art”

She has created very beautiful art pieces with a working tool of a ball point pen. She says that her paintings are her mental images of conversations she live through. The exhibition will remain continue till January 22nd 2011.
