Ciciola, Broadwater honored

After tallying a team-high seven points in the Hobart hockey team’s two wins last week, junior Gregory Ciciola garnered ECAC West Player of the Week honors. Sophomore goalie Nick Broadwater was also recognized on the league’s weekly honor roll.

Ciciola tallied a goal and two assists in an 8-1 win over Curry on Saturday. On Sunday, he recorded two goals and two assists in a 7-2 victory at Nichols. Ciciola ranks second on the team with nine goals and 12 assists for 21 points. He ranks sixth in the league in points, and is tied for sixth in goals and assists. Ciciola is also tied for third in the ECAC West with four power-play goals this season. It’s the second time this season he has earned the award.

Broadwater tallied 54 saves on 55 shots and earned both wins over the weekend. Against the Colonels on Saturday, he played all 60 minutes and stopped 35 shots. On Sunday against the Bison, Broadwater played the opening 33:20 and stopped all 19 shots he faced. He is sporting a league-leading .932 save percentage and a 2.13 goals against average this season.
