The William Smith swimming and diving team got a pair of third place finishes and took third in the five team Rensselaer Invitational. Casey Sherwin and the 400-yard freestyle relay team produced third place efforts in the team’s first competition since the first weekend in December.
In the 50 free, Sherwin logged a time of 26.31 for the team’s best individual finish. She also swam on the 400 medley relay team, with Katie Stebbins, Heidi Gordon, and Lauren Morosky, that captured four place and took sixth in the 100 free (57.88).
Gordon also finished fifth in the 200 butterfly (2:22.72).
The Herons’ other third place showing came courtesy of the efforts of Ellen Ellison, Mimi Mahoney, Sally Storch, and Amanda Woods. They posted a time of 3:59.34 in the 400 free relay.
Ellison also finished fifth in the 1,000 free (11:43.00), while Lia Duffy turned in a fourth place time in the 100 free (57.51) and a fifth place effort in the 200 individual medley (2:24.11).
