In her four years of undergraduate education, Lauren Berger participated in 15 internships with companies such as MTV, FOX, BWR Public Relations, and NBC. That experience burgeoned into a career helping others gain internships and she is now CEO of Intern Queen Inc. On Monday, Jan. 31, Berger will speak at the Colleges as a guest of the Salisbury Center for Career Services and Professional Development to share advice for obtaining, and getting the most out of, internships.
In her first job post-college at Creative Artists Agency in Beverly Hills, Calif., Berger told everyone of her business ambitions and caught the eye of Hollywood Producer, Marshall Herskovitz (“The Last Samurai,” “Blood Diamond,” “Defiance”). Herskovitz invested in her start-up in June 2008.
In 2009, Berger was listed fifth on Business Week magazine’s “Twenty-Five U.S. Entrepreneurs Ages 25 and Under.” Mobile Youth has placed her in the “top 10 Youth Marketing Minds of 2010.” She works with more than 500 employers located all over the U.S. and Canada and her site, InternQueen.com, reaches more than 40,000 different students, parents and employers each month. In addition to being a national college speaker, she has a weekly advice column with the Washington Post website and has been recently featured in The Wall Street Journal, FoxBusiness, The New York Post, AOL, Alloy.com, YPulse.com, E!News.com, Yahoo Business, MarieClaire.com, and more.
Berger will be speaking in the Geneva Room of the Warren Hunting Smith Library at 7:30 p.m.
