Renowned pianist Kevin Moore will return to the Hobart and William Smith campus for a recital featuring the works of Johann Sebastian Bach and Frederic Chopin at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 30, in the Geneva Room of the Warren Hunting Smith library. Highlights of the concert will include Bach’s “Partita #4 in D Major” and Chopin’s “Ballade #3 in A-Flat Major.”
“He is a wonderful player, and we are lucky to have him back once again,” says Music Department Chair Robert Cowles of Moore who has performed numerous times at HWS over the past several years.
Moore is a professor of music at Onondaga Community College, where he has taught since 1975. He has studied with esteemed piano teachers such as James Ball, Robert Goldsand, Anton Kuerti and Liselotte Schmidt. Moore holds a B.M. from the Crane School of Music and an M.M. from the Manhattan School of Music. In addition, Moore holds a Ph.D. from New York University and a J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law. He has been licensed to practice law in New York State since 1987.
Admission to the concert is free, though donations are greatly appreciated.
