Petersen ’92 Helps Litigate for Aid to Eroded Beaches

Two coastal communities (Avalon, N.J., and Carolina Beach, N.C.) are lobbying and threatening litigation to encourage the Army Corps of Engineers to reverse its policy to stop seeking funds for “renourishment” of eroded beaches, according to the Sept. 23 Washington Post article “Lobbying Up a Storm for Beaches.”

Lawrence R. Liebesman, a lawyer at Holland & Knight, and colleague Rafe Petersen are handling the litigation side of the campaign, while Howard Marlowe of the Marlowe & Co. lobby shop is managing the lobbying.

Rafe Petersen is a member of the Hobart Class of 1992.
