At the MAISA Team Race Challenge, HWS picked up four wins and just one loss in both the first and second rounds of racing. In Round 3, HWS posted a 3-2 record for an 11-4 overall mark to place second out of six teams. Junior Patrick Kana, sophomore Tim Zacher, senior Louis Padnos, and sophomore Potter Hodgson competed as the skippers. First-year Camille Conover, first-year Brooke Lyon, and first-year John Darby made up the HWS crew.
At the St. Mary’s Women’s Regatta, senior Caroline Patten and first-year Jane Rew took sixth in the A Division. They earned six top five finishes. First-year Arielle deLisser and senior Holly Huffine placed fifth in the B Division, earning seven top five finishes.
In Annapolis, Md., at the Truxtun Umsted, senior David Thompson, senior Hannah Littell, and sophomore Catherine Pelo competed in the A Division and claimed sixth place. In the B Division, junior Austen Anderson, junior Chris Klevan, and sophomore Bridget Nannig took ninth, and in the C Division senior Sam Padnos finished 15th. Junior Sam Blouin recorded a second place finish in the D Division. He finished in the top five in 12 out of his 17 races.
The HWS sailing team will be back on the water this weekend. On March 26-27, sailors will compete in the Admiral Moore Team Race in Throggs Neck, N.Y., the Boston Dinghy Cup in Boston, Mass., and the Arrigan Memorial in Washington, D.C.
