Wellness Week Activities Announced

The Colleges will sponsor the 6th Annual Wellness Week through Friday, April 1. Activities will feature stations and events from several departments that deal with wellness, ranging from aerobic exercise and Pilates to nutrition and lifestyle awareness. The events will take place in the Bristol Field House unless otherwise noted.

Monday

Rochester Eye and Tissue Bank will offer information to the community about organ, eye and tissue donations from 11 a.m.-12 p.m.

Staff from Hubbs Health Center will provide blood pressure checks from noon – 1 p.m.

A class on stress reduction and relaxation exercises will be held from 6 – 6:45 p.m. by instructor Leigh Pitifer ’84.

Tuesday

A step class will offer a choreographically challenging routine to help get the heart rate up. The class will be offered by instructor Donna R. Loeb from 3:30 – 4 p.m.       

Body composition checks will be offered from noon to 6 p.m. to help find out why reducing your weight is not always the best way to improve your health or your appearance.

Staff from Hubbs Health Center will provide blood pressure checks from 4 – 5 p.m.

Wednesday

A nutrition trivia contest will be held from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. where you can check out your food IQ and possibly win a gift certificate to Wegmans.

Thursday

Staff from Hubbs Health Center will provide blood pressure checks from 4 – 5 p.m.

Physical Assessments will be performed from 4 – 5 p.m. Participants can choose from aerobic endurance, leg press (lower body strength), bench press (upper body strength), and power and balance.

Experience the “Labyrinth” to help center your mind and body in the Hirshson Lounge from 7:30 – 9 p.m. with Chaplain Lesley Adams.

Friday

Staff from Hubbs Health Center will provide blood pressure checks from noon – 1 p.m.

“How To Maintain a Healthy Exercise Routine” will be presented by Jeff VanLone and Darnell Pierce from 3 – 4 p.m.
