Inspi(RED) Soccer Tournament

Looking for some healthy competition to support a great cause? An opportunity awaits you with the Inspi(RED) 3v3 soccer tournament on Friday, April 29. The tournament will be played under the lights on Boswell Field and will begin at 7:30 pm.

With some help from his Hobart Varsity Soccer teammates and some HWS staff members, Will Abbott ’13 has organized this fundraiser through the Grassroot Soccer Organization. Founded in 2002, the Grassroot Soccer Organization has set up several schools for children in Africa and Central America to educate them about HIV & AIDS, how to prevent it, and how to be leaders in the fight against it.

Abbott has been interested in the Grassroot Soccer Organization for years and is excited to be able to contribute by bringing a fundraiser to campus. “I see the Inspi(RED) tournament becoming an annual event. If it’s a success this year it can only get bigger and better.” He hopes to raising close to $1,000 at the tournament.

“I hope not only to raise a lot of money for the Grassroot Soccer Organization, but to create a fun environment for the tournament. It’s healthy competition, live music, and food under the lights at Boswell… all for a good cause!”

The entry fee is $10 per player, which goes directly to the Grassroot Soccer Organization. Students can sign up in person during lunchtime tabling at Scandling Campus Center or can register online at http://bit.ly/fmJSvI. The registration deadline is not until the day of the tournament (April 29). Free agents can register, as well.
