The Seneca7 race held Saturday, April 30, conceived by Deirdre Wholly ’11 was well received in its first year. Organizers had more than 500 runners participate as seven-member teams running various seven-mile legs of the course that circled all of Seneca Lake. One team was comprised of members of the William Smith swim team who called themselves “Fish Out of Water.”

Centennial Center Leader in Residence Jeff Henderson, who organizes the Musselman Triathlon each summer, and fellow Centennial Center Leader in Residence and instructor in the Philosophy Department Jackie Augustine have been working with HWS students to create the event, helping students to develop leadership skills through hands on experience in the real world.

Photo galleries of the race were posted online by both the Finger Lakes Times and the Daily Messenger.
