Working as community outreach coordinator for the Finger Lakes Institute is Sarah Meyer's dream job, she said in the Oct. 20 Finger Lakes Times.
The Geneva native earned her bachelor's and master's degrees from the State University College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse, and has worked with the U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service in Alaska and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation in Albany.
“People need to realize what they can do and realize their impact on local watersheds. The institute is working towards providing opportunities for people,” she said. “The institute is bringing all of the knowledge together and making it more accessible to the public; all of us are working with the same issues, such as zebra mussels, and dealing with these issues together.”
