In August, Paul Hawkins ’89 will join Credit Suisse as a managing director and global head of commodities. As such, Hawkins will be responsible for developing the bank’s commodities business globally. He will be based in London.

This appointment underscores our commitment to further investing in our commodities platform,” said Gael de Boissard, co-head of global securities in a press release announcing Hawkins’ appointment.
Hawkins most recently spent nine years with LITASCO, the Geneva, Switzerland-based marketing and trading company for Lukoil, one of Russia’s premier oil companies. He was most recently head of trading and supply, specializing in crude oil, refined petroleum, freight and derivative instruments. Prior to working at LITASCO, Hawkins was a trader of energy products in several companies based in the U.S. and Singapore.
Hawkins earned a B.A. in history from Hobart College and has an M.B.A. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. While at Hobart, he was a member of the Statesmen football team.
