McNally Quoted on Organic Produce

Susanne McNally, professor of history, is among a growing group of consumers who are turning away from produce grown with the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers and toward produce grown via natural means.

“People … will pay more for a really good car,” she said in the story “Agriculture co-op offers fresh produce” in the Nov. 14 Finger Lakes Times. “Why don't they do that for a an apple?”

When McNally heard about organic farmer Andy Fellenz, of Phelps, and his efforts to bring a Community Supported Agriculture, or CSA, group to Geneva, she hosted an introductory session Nov. 16 at her home.
