The Finger Lakes Institute hosted naturalist and writer Gary Ferguson as its first visiting scholar. Ferguson gave a public talk Nov. 18, which was featured in the Nov. 19 Finger Lakes Times.
“We would be well served to figure out how to go forward with our conservation efforts,” Ferguson said, and added that in order to go forward it is helpful to first look at the past.
Jen Brown, a junior at the Colleges, said she was intrigued by the talk. “I came expecting a basic talk about nature in our lives [but] he also talked about spirituality,” she said. “Just the way he tells stories is fascinating.”
