Cedric Johnson, assistant professor of political science, took part in the [CTRL] Controlling Bodies, Controlling Spaces Conference at McGill University in Montreal on Saturday, Oct 23. Johnson participated in a special extended session that featured his paper, “The Politics of Race Management” and a response by Professor Aureliano De Soto of Bard College.
Johnson is currently on a post-doctoral fellowship for the 2004-2005 academic year at the University of Rochester’s Frederick Douglass Institute for African and African American Studies. He plans to use the fellowship to complete his book project, “Black Power Redux: Race Leaders and Radicalism After Segregation” (University of Minnesota Press, forthcoming).
Johnson joined HWS in 2001. He holds a bachelor's degree from Southern University, a master's degree from Ohio State University and the Ph.D. from the University of Maryland.
