As the academic year opens, the William Smith Deans invite all seniors to the Celebrating Excellence Dinner. This dinner compiles three traditional William Smith events: Opening Day, Academic Excellence and Named Scholars, all of which recognized students for their scholarly achievements. This year, students of the William Smith Class of 2012 will be praised for their diverse honors.
First-year speaker Aly Mcknight’15 will remind the seniors of their first experiences at William Smith. Senior Wendi Bacon’12, a Charles H. Salisbury Summer International Internship Stipend Award recipient, will speak about her summer as a research assistant in Cambridge, England. Three Miles Lost, the College’s a capella group, will also perform.
“You should take away from the dinner, stories from brilliant William Smith women and delicious cheesecake.” Bacon ’12 says.
Acting Dean of William Smith Susanne McNally says all William Smith seniors should attend and “take your seat among fellow students who are all excellent.”
Celebrating Excellence Dinner will be held Friday, Sept. 16, at 6 p.m., in the Vandervort Room of the Scandling Campus Center.
To attend, RSVP to WsDeansMail@hws.edu– all are welcome!
