On Saturday, Sept. 17, the Hobart soccer team will host its annual alumni weekend. Former Statesmen soccer players will start things off with an alumni game, and the current Hobart soccer team will take on the University of Rochester at 2 p.m.
The former soccer Statesmen will take to St. Clair Field for an alumni game beginning at 10 a.m. The current Hobart squad (5-0-0), which is ranked No. 10 in the nation, will then face the Yellowjackets (4-1-0) on Cozzens Field. Following the game, almuni will gather at Dana’s Timeout for a reception.
Senior Tony Yeboah and junior Reuben Burk lead the Statesmen in points with five apiece. Both have scored two goals and tailed one assist. Senior Evan Grey has netted two goals for a total of four points. Through five games, senior goalkeeper Charlie Hale has collected 13 saves and is tied for first in the Liberty League in goals against average. He is tied for second in the conference with three shutouts.
Rochester is coming off a 3-1 win over RIT on Tuesday. Max Eberhardt leads the Yellowjackets with six points on two goals and two assists. Scott Garfing has started three games in goal and is sporting a .909 save percentage and a 0.31 goals against average. He has shared time with Mike Moranz, who has recorded a .538 save percentage and a 2.50 goals against average so far this fall.
