Ben Folds, a solo alternative rock artist and pianist, is currently touring America promoting his most recent album, “The Best Imitation of Myself: A Retrospective,” as well as his first official solo debut album, “Rockin’ the Suburbs.” Folds will present a concert at The Smith Opera House on Saturday, Nov. 12, sponsored by the Student Activities Office. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show begins at 8 p.m.
The opener for the concert was decided at the “Sing On,” also hosted by Student Activities. The singing competition featured all three of the Colleges’ student a capella groups- Hobartones, Three Miles Lost and A Perfect Third – who gave it their all for a chance to open for Folds. Three Miles Lost won the competition and will open for Folds on Saturday.
Tickets to the Ben Folds concert are available in Scandling Campus Center at the Student Concierge Desk or at The College Store. General admission tickets can be purchased at www.thesmith.org or at the Smith Opera House Box Office, 82 Seneca Street. Tickets are $15 for HWS students with ID and $25 for general admission.
3 Miles Lost is a student club that formed in spring 2002 and had its first concert in fall 2002.
