Discussing Digital Marketing Careers

HWS Trustee Will Margiloff ’92 will discuss “Entrepreneurism in Digital Marketing” as part of the Professionals in Residence series on Friday, Jan. 27 at 4:30 p.m. in Stern 303. Margiloff is CEO of IgnitionOne, and co-CEO and founder of IgnitionOne’s parent company, Innovation Interactive.  As such he is charged with the overall vision and strategic direction of IgnitionOne’s services and Digital Marketing Suite.

With more than 16 years of Internet marketing experience, Margiloff pioneered the use of paid placement, interstitials, site take-overs, alternative display ads and image based contextual marketing. He has worked extensively with top consumer brands such as AT&T, Coca-Cola, General Electric, Gillette, P&G, MasterCard, SBC and Visa, as well as leading high-tech companies including AOL, AT&T, Dell, Hewlett-Packard, IBM and Intel. He is a regular speaker at industry events and investment conferences focused on the Internet advertising industry, and is frequently quoted in publications ranging from Dow Jones to Ad Week.

Before founding Innovation Interactive through a management buyout from Net2Phone in May of 2002, Margiloff was the senior vice president of advertising sales at Net2Phone. There, he founded and ran the Internet sales group from 2000-2002. Prior to that, he was the vice president of sales and marketing for theglobe.com. He has also previously served as vice president of east coast sales for 24/7 Media.

Committed to the Colleges, he is a member of the Colleges’ Board of Trustees and has created the Margiloff Foundation Endowed Scholarship through the Margiloff Charitable Foundation. He earned a B.A. in history with a minor in political science. While a student, Margiloff played baseball all four years.  He was named to the NCAA Division III New York State All-Regional team in 1992 and was the recipient of the Johnny Brown ’32 Baseball Trophy, which is presented to the most improved player.

The event is sponsored by the Salisbury Center for Career Services and Professional Development.
