Dedrick ’98 Leads Class in Science on Seneca Research

Students in the IB environmental systems and biology class at Canandaigua Academy took a field trip on The William Scandling as part of the Science on Seneca program that introduces students to environmental field studies. The students collected water samples to measure the pH, dissolved oxygen, different species of plankton and the layers of lake bed soil.

“The goal was to expose our students to college level research using $3 million worth of equipment on the boat,” said the teacher, Robert Dedrick, in the Nov. 29 issue of The Cannon, Canandaigua Academy's school newspaper. Dedrick is a member of the Hobart Class of 1998.
