The Salisbury Center for Career Services will host Phillip Harrington P’10, executive vice president and chief administrative officer at CA Technologies, for a talk titled “The Liberal Arts Advantage in Business” beginning at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, in Stern 103.
At CA Technologies, Harrington is responsible for human resources, information technology, administrative services, risk management, education and government relations. He is also a member of the company’s executive management team. He joined the company in 2010.
Harrington earned a bachelor of science degree, summa cum laude, from Western Michigan University and a master of science degree from Cornell University. He then spent 20 years at Prudential Financial, Inc. where he held a number of senior management positions, including global risk officer, chief compliance officer, and vice president of government relations. He also served as interim head of the company’s $3.5 billion revenue group insurance business.
After this, Harrington was a director at Deloitte & Touche LLP, where he served clients in the areas of general management consulting, risk management and regulation. He also was lead client service partner to a strategic advisory client of the firm, overseeing the provision of all professional services.
Earlier in his career, Harrington was a legislative fellow and assistant in the New York State Senate. He has served on several industry boards and committees and presently serves as a trustee of Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey.
