Hong Kong Internship is Eye Opening

Congjing Zhong ’13, a double major in economics and environmental studies, spent the summer in Hong Kong working with DFS Group Limited, the world’s leading luxury retailer.

Throughout the 10-week internship, Zhong gained experience in store operations, implementation of management strategies, selling strategies, all while completing various projects and learning about the company’s beauty, luxury, fashion, and spirits divisions.

“Interning in Hong Kong broadened my international business understanding and experience,” says Zhong.

Among her various projects and experiences as an intern, Congjing served as a team leader in the departments of beauty, concierge, and product support. She also has learned about the customer engagement and management of the platinum services club.

With great interest in luxury retail and fashion, she says the internship prepared her well for a career in the luxury retail field.

On campus, Zhong serves on the Student Advisory Board for the HWS Centennial Center for Leadership, where she assists in the Center’s strategic and programming steps. She also works with the Geneva Heroes program and works in the Offices of Student Activities and Admissions.
