Dexheimer ’55 LL.D. ’80 will be Elmira Interim Superintendent

Honorary Trustee Roy Dexheimer, a member of the Hobart Class of 1955, LL.D. 1980, has recently been appointed as interim superintendent of the Elmira City School District. He will begin his duties in Elmira April 4. Currently a member of the Ithaca City School District Board of Education, Dexheimer also served as interim superintendent of the Groton Central School District from 2002-2003. He was elected to the Ithaca board in 2003 for a three-year term. His appointment was featured in the Feb. 4 Ithaca Journal.

Dexheimer was district superintendent of the Tompkins-Seneca-Tioga Board of Cooperative Educational Services in Ithaca from 1981 to 1999, and was Batavia school district superintendent from 1968 to 1981.
