Senior Legal Officer within the General Legal Division of the United Nations, Jay Pozenel ’82, will visit the Colleges on Oct. 30. He will address topics relating to his area of expertise: public and private international law, the Charter of the United Nations, and the status of the United Nations as it pertains to international and intergovernmental organizations.
The talk will be held at 7:30 p.m. in Stern 103 as part of the Professionals in Residence Series.
Pozenel has held various positions within the General Legal Division for more than 20 years. He currently works in the UN’s Office of Legal Affairs, representing the UN in legal issues and providing legal support and advice to other departments and offices affiliated with the UN.
Pozenel graduated from Hobart College with a B.A. in political science, English and comparative literature. He went on to receive his Master’s of Public Administration from the University of New Mexico before receiving a Juris Doctorate from Northeastern School of Law. He worked as an associate attorney at Kaplan & Lenow before accepting a job at the United Nations.
