The William Smith cross country team will travel to Potsdam, N.Y., to compete in the 2012 Liberty League Championship hosted by Clarkson on Saturday, Oct. 27. The women’s race is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
The Herons will look to improve on a fifth place finish from 2011. St. Lawrence earned the team title last year, recording 23 points. Vassar, RPI, RIT, Union, Clarkson and Bard will make up the remainder of the field.
Senior Emily D’Addario finished second of 97 runners last year earning first team all-league honors. She posted a time of 22:39 on the 6-kilometer course. D’Addario has led William Smith across the finish line at every race this fall. She has notched four victories in her senior season, upping her career count to nine. D’Addario has been named the Liberty League Performer of the Week four times this year.
The top seven finishers at the championship race earn All-Liberty League first team honors, and runners who finish eighth through 14th garner a spot on the second team.
